This is a truly rare piano. 1877 was the patent year for the over-strung Grand Piano. This is one of the first beauties designed with much better materials and craftsmanship than any new Steinway Grand. The model "A" grand piano was discontinued in 1941, and never made the same. Recently, Steinway & Sons brought back the model "A" as it was one of the most successful proportions for beauty, style, and immaculate sound.
